What you built is great. But with Claude Code, you can tailor it to your specific needs — in minutes.

Right now your tool analyzes anything you paste in — and the five sections it checks are general on purpose. But you probably write one type of communication more than anything else. A few minutes of customization makes it sharper for the work you actually do.

Before you write your prompt, think through:

  • What type of communication do you write most — pitches, internal memos, client reports, press releases, stakeholder emails?
  • For that format specifically, what do you most want to know — and are any of the five current sections not useful for it?

This example is written for someone who primarily writes media pitches. Swap in your own use case — press releases, internal memos, client reports, stakeholder emails, whatever you write most. The structure of the prompt stays the same; just change the format and the five sections.

Or, if you want to keep the tool flexible for any type of writing, try this: ask Claude Code to add a text box at the top of the app where you specify the format before each run.

Example prompt for Claude Code
I want to focus this tool specifically on media pitches. Right now the five sections are general — I want them tuned for pitching.

Please update the prompt so the five sections are:
1. Hook strength — is the opening line compelling enough for a journalist to keep reading?
2. Newsworthiness — is there a clear reason why this is timely or relevant right now?
3. Clarity — is the story easy to understand in the first two sentences?
4. The ask — is it obvious what I'm asking the journalist to do?
5. Fit — does the angle feel right for the outlet or beat I'm pitching?

Everything else can stay the same — just update the prompt that gets sent to the AI.

You don't have to use those five sections — they're just an example. Describe the format you actually work in and what a useful review would look like, and Claude Code will make the change.
